Il Forrer (1902-30, II, p. 171) riporta: In a letter of the Elector Augustus addressed on the 21st of February, 1567, to the Emperor Maximilian II. from the camp before Gotha, he is named 'Müntzmeister und lieben getrewen Sebastian Funken". Ammon mentions that Funcke's old hause a Schneeberg was still called the Mint when he wrote.
